    Joy of Christmas

    Children from 27 schools ranging in age from nine to eighteen will travel to Washington National Cathedral for the Cathedral Choral Society’s hour-long Annual Young People’s Joy of Christmas Matinee, beginning at 1:00 pm. Music Director J. Reilly Lewis will act as Master of Ceremonies, as he conducts the Society in a varied program of anthems and carols and leads the audience in a sing-along of traditional holiday favorites. Performances and demonstrations will also be given by keyboard artist Scott Dettra, Cathedral carillonneur Edward Nassor and The Washington Symphonic Brass.

    Young Benefactor’s

    15th Annual Jolly Holiday
    Come join Young Benefactors of the Smithsonian for a Jolly Holiday Celebration, 7-10 p.m. Dance the night away with Megawatt DJ while enjoying light hors d'oeuvres by various D.C. restaurants and bakeries. There will be an open bar including Covey Run wine, Hypnotic and Heineken beers along with coffee and doughnuts provided by KrispyKreme. Bring a toy for Miracle on 7th Street, which gives toys, money, food and clothing for homeless and underprivileged families. Smithsonian Castle, 1000 Jefferson Dr., SW. Gen.     Sat & Sun, Dec 11 & 12

    Celebrate Jules Feiffer and his many talents with the 1971 classic Carnal Knowledge (written by Feiffer) plus his incredible Academy Award Winning short Munro. Mr. Feiffer will be in attendance at the screening on Sat, Dec. 11 at the AFI Silver Theatre. Feiffer returns on Sun, Dec 12 to the Washington DCJCC to perform "Feiffer and Kids Make A Children’s Book," an interactive program where Mr. Feiffer and children in attendance improvise together and illustrate their own original story.
